Last chime for logoffskis

Final tally is in for log off vote. 101 have/would log off in certain combat situations, 119 have not/wouldn't. A pretty split vote, only a small favor of the have nots.

We already know how I feel, and how certain people(s) that read my blog feel :)

Thanks for your participation. I shall think of a new and intriguing vote soon enough.

That is all.

CSM

Last call from me for votes. I figure if you don't vote right after reading this, you don't deserver to vote. You should just sit back and keep playing the game. Just don't whine when things in the game don't go in a direction you like. You had your chance.

For those who are going to vote, check out Avicenna Sarfaraz and the issues and experience he is going to bring to the table. I throw my support in behind him. You can all vote here. If you have enough time to read my damn blog, you can spend 2 minutes and vote.

Do it.

That is all.

Vacation is over and I'm back at work, so...

So back to blogging. The problem with blogging at home is that I would rather be playing EVE than writing about it. At work I have no choice... I must live vicariously through my own blog and the other EVE blogs out there.

Last night we saw some large fights with PL in Fountain. I wasn't involved in any of them directly, as it was HUN and BLAST that were doing the fighting. We just observed them running through our home constellation.

I also got some action in Tribute. We took a Dramiel ceptor gang to H-W and scored a number of kills. 3x Drake and a Mega fell to our collective might. We had upwards of 60 in gang (more than usual) and with those numbers came some lemmings. We lost 2 Dramiels. FC was pissed, I was pissed. The advantage to running with the DOOM guys (/gals i.e. Wicked Princess) is that they are (generally) very skilled pilots. This allows for ballsy maneuvers and tactics. When idiots join gang, its aggravating because they give the enemy easy kills. I think next time our little roam will be invite only.

I chatted it up with Lucian James and Imperiam in H-W local. Lucian was quite cordial in his bantering. Imperiam was a bit defensive. He even threatened me with saving chat logs and sending them to Avi (our CEO) over MSN. I laughed, penised him in local and asked him to include that in the logs as well. Some may call that ungentlemanlike. I don't really care.

I headed home and podded back to Delve. We saved a carrier tackled in a belt by PL (stupid I know) and I ratted (yes, ratted) for about 30 min before calling it a night. I've decided I need to pick up my market manipulation again.

As far as the war goes, both sides are claiming victories and both are right. Blast lost a Titan to PL stupidly. He was uncapping POS mods on a hostile POS by himself with hostiles in local. PL was on the way, intel got to him and he tried to bail. Dictors were already in place and he didn't log off till WAYYYYY too late. Combination of idiot decisions. IT lost a supercarrier defending empty CSAAs in Querious. Despite Phreeze's political talk, the CSAAs were empty. So losing a supercarrier due to "drifting" (afk?) is idiotic. But yes, it did happen. Once he was a little outside the shields PL bumped him further out, and kept him out until he died. Lack of numbers in fleet (most were in PB) meant we had to disengage and leave the fight. How we managed to save one supercarrier (there were 2 on field) but not recognize the other wasn't safe/was in danger is beyond me. I wasn't in command, so its not my place to speculate.

The two front war makes it hard to commit at home, but support from Allies in the North is firming up. We took a station (as per my last post) from Stella Polaris. Not that it matters; they are all NC and "BFF" as they put it. So WI, Stella, Rzr, MM, whatever. They took it back when our TCU was killed shortly before anchoring. That NC force has OWN, Stella, MM, RZR, Rage, Goons (I mean LODRA) and even some Looney Toons. Our forces consisted of IT, ROL, Initiative and Atlas/-A- (their fleet was small and consisted of both).  Don't forget White Noise, either. They were the reason we were even in the position to take a system. Several other systems in various locations up North are reinforced and contested for sov and stations. The multi front approach is starting to work. We are also hitting NC CSAAs. An eye for an eye. My only worry is that the commitment we are seeing from -A- is limited. Some say we went too early and didn't give -A- enough time. Others say -A- really isn't committed to a battle far away. Atlas has been, well, dissapointing so far. When they have come to fight, they have ended up making some bad calls and lost entire fleets, killing morale. Bobby has been away (with work and a woman he says) so the leadership has been somewhat disorganized. Not many have wanted to step up. So coordination with their forces has been a pain, and twice they have left the fight early and left the other allies hanging out to dry. Bobby has been active the past week; with luck we will have more co-ops with their forces and with better success.

Anyone who says one side or the other is winning is full of shit. Battles are won and lost but the trend is stalemate so far. Political blustering is fun and games but means nothing. EVE news is horrible as well... those guys are as bad as FOX News. Only time will tell what ends up happening.

That is all.

Back at it.

I had a great weekend. I made lots of money at Blackjack... then I lost most of those profits playing more Blackjack. Oh well, at least I didn't end up like some of my friends (down $300-$500).

These past couple days have been crazy and bloody. Both SC and NC have been reinforcing CSAA's in the North and in the South. Pandemic Legion have been paid what is rumored to be 30 billion in isk to fight us down in Delve. Of course they were more than happy to come seek revenge on those that kicked them out of Fountain.

So now we find ourselves fighting a war on multuple fronts. I have podded myself so many times I have lost count. Lucky for us our allies are stepping up the NC front and allowing some of us to deal with issues at home.

Yesterday we hit a station in Branch, and several CSAAs were reinforced in Tribute. Today they all came out, and we hit the CSAAs and annihilated an NC fleet. I logged on late and missed that round of fights.

I did make the fight in Branch, however. WI dropped (lost) sov in 52G- and White Noise took the station. Woot! Our first station in enemy territory. The rest of the SC distracted NC forces throughout the regions up until the last hour of the onlining TCU in 52G. We formed up a support fleet to help out White Noise. Soho, Quesa  and myself were leading the fleet.

We got good fights in the 52G area for 45 minutes, with running skirmishes alongside White Noise and Atlas/-A-. Atlas took heavy losses on some bad warp ins, but it looked good as the NC fleet was distracted and unable to shoot the TCU onlining. White Noise supercaps (4x Aeon and 5x Nyxs) kept repping the TCU while peeking out from their POS shields. The system was laggy as hell but manageable.

Until NC cyno popped on the TCU.

Shit.

They jumped in a massive amount of dreads, lots of carriers and several supercarriers.

The TCU died around 5 min before onlining. Talk about frustrating. GF NC. Its not over.

We bailed out after TCU died, and managed to kill 3x Drakes and a Dominix on the way home. All were LODRA ratters. Talk about freaking hilarious... killing Goons ratting in Deklein on our way home.

We then killed a POS in Pure Blind... and had over 25 bs killed on a fail warp in. A spy on comms reported our alignment and they had probers waiting on the celestial. For the record, I hate spys. We did kill the tech moon, and onlined our own tower. So despite the losses, it was a win.

I know this is quick and there is less detail than usual. This is because I am about to leave for more fights... and gotta pay attention. More battle reports to come.

Also, I have mentioned Easley Thames many a time in my battle reports and the like. Interestingly enough, Easley has started a blog. I would love to say he was inspired by Aggressive Tendencies :)

Station

Time is limited, as I am leaving for Vegas shortly (woot woot)

Last night we moved our station components down from empire and set up the -MVN-'s second station in Delve. Under the radar, we moved using titan bridges down to our constellation. PL was busy repping a small pos we had reinforced, and didn't even scout our little operation out. Win for us.

Thats our new Amarr outpost Egg. It turned into a beautiful station after downtime:

Shes a beautiful looking station, much better than the Minmitar outpost we put up a few months ago.

That is all.

Just not a good day for me.

Tonight was just not a good night (in EVE). I joined Sohos gang. The first fight was in J-C, which went very much in our favor. Seven kills to one loss. We just burned off the gate in snipe HACs and the NC gang burned after us... and died. They ended up warping off, and word of heavier support for the NC on the way had us bail out. We re shipped in X-7 to Dramiel/Inty gang.

That lasted all of five minutes for me.

A hostile NC HAC gang was poking around X-7. So we all jumped into KLY where they were. The order was to warp to the G95 gate at 0.

No one mentioned there was a bubble.

I found out halfway through warp.

As I landed, sure enough there it was. The majority of the ceptors and Dramiels burned out, made it to safety.

The two falcons, myself being one of them, died. We had no chance. We also ended up losing a Daredevil and one Dramiel.

I was pissed. Very angry. Not only am I running low on funds (haven't ratted since the war started), its just a sad way to lose an expensive recon. Not during a good fight, jamming and going down in a blaze of glory.

I warped into a damn bubble.

This being said I was being yelled at to get home and organize our indy guys into a defense gang. Delve has been getting moons hit by PL the past few days. Apparently the NC is paying PL. Its a pretty simple strategy.

So they had hit one of our moons in KEE-. I podded down there and started setting up the gang. We hit a tower in 4X0 that a different corp in alliance had left undefended (no one really knew about it) and PL had anchored a small tower on. PL hot dropped us while we were doing so and nailed a few battleships, but most got out. I warped to a planet and a Harpy landed on me.

First thought was oh no, I'm gonna get tackled and die.

But my senses took over and I locked him up, burned towards a celestial and lit him up. He was tanking so so... but my Harbinger is a beast. Then he burned within scram range... bad idea. That meant he was in my web range. My web grabbed him and what little transversal he had went bye bye. Pop went the Harpy.

We soon got more and more in fleet, and the ball was rolling. I ended up heading out to get some R & R with friends RL. I came back late and the op had gone smoothly. KEE- tower was saved and PL didn't show up for a fight. We almost killed Phreeze in his Falcon but he managed to get 2km from the gate cloaked  and got through. Sall good. PL only takes fights they know they can win these days, and with their limited budget it doesn't surprise me. At least we have some good fights at home now too.

That is all.

PS: If this post seems a little fragmented, I am half asleep and its 3am :)

You win some, you lose some.

So my 1 week vacation from work is... well not quite happening. Vegas plans have been scrapped. So in addition to riding my bike, mackin da ladies and sleeping.... yeah thats right, EVE.

Yesterday had its up and downs.

I woke up and joined Soho's gang. Why? Cuz his gangs are hella fun. The inexperienced die, the experienced get uber kills. We had interceptors and dictors as usual, I was in a Falcon. We got a few kills in and around H-W, and reports of a large NC fleet with capitals was reported in H-W.

Time to go.

We burned back to X-7. On the X47 gate in KQK we held, as a Hurricane and Deimos were landing. The elements of our gang who were already through pushed them through. We bubbled up in X47 and waited as they held cloak. We assumed they would burn back to gate... but they didn't. The Deimos and Hurricane both burned off the gate as fast as possible... which against an interceptor/Dramiel gang is a bad idea. Very bad.

Both ships were tackled instantly. As well as scrammed and webbed. Also jammed to hell (courtesy of PK). The Hurricane died first, then the Deimos.

We moved on to X-7 to join the fight. Since the station was camped all the interceptors went to a friendly POS. I warped to a safe outside station to see a camping BC/HAC gang with a Titan on the field. We got everyone organized and did a mass undock. Within a minute the titan decloaked (he had been hiding) and cyno'd out. There fleet starting taking massive casualties, and tried to bail. Problem was, most of them were bubbled. We Then warped to the POS they had been hitting. We managed to tackle several carriers and dreads, and started taking them down. The majority of the NC fleet (largely composed of LODRA aka Goons aka NC pets) managed to cyno out. 20-30 dreads and a couple Titans. LODRA brought in a gang to try and save their caps. All in subcaps, we killed the majority of them on the POS before the leftovers bailed. Final battle report here... needless to say it was a decisive victory.

At this point I went to get food. I had been on for hours and was starving when I started playing. I went for groceries and when I came home... not good. First thing I heard was "we need a cyno X-7 now!!".

I promptly logged on my Falcon and popped a cyno on station. Lots of hectic things going on in ROIR- was the story. I found out later the story...

Our defense fleet FC had taken the gang to ROIR- to reinforce an NC pos. NC responded with a conventional fleet that outnumbered us by around 60. Our FC (not in IT) decided to drop them with 20 carriers.

Bad idea.

Very bad.

I suppose it seems natural to me to realize that LODRA had just jumped out a massive gang including dreads and titans and they were in the middle of prime time. Its not like they would just sign off. Intel had said the NC were re shipping to conventional bs... but I'm sure that intel was for normal NC, not LODRA or PL.

And Lodra and PL made up the majority of the enemy gang.

So we dropped the NC fleet with the carriers and LODRA counter dropped our carriers. We took heavy losses, and the morale boost we had from the decisive victory in X-7 was completely lost.

Fail.

We made some changes to how caps are used as a result of this incident. They should never have been dropped, and even when they were, there should have been assets waiting to bring them back asap. It was a dumb mistake, and will not be repeated.

Momentum is important in a war like this. Its as psychological as anything else. When things are good, things are good. People will log in for the fights and will be fighting happily. When things are bad, people stop logging in. They lose the will to show up for internet spaceships. It is the silent killer. Pray that its on your side.

That is all.
